Atlantic Cape Review Awarded for Journalistic Excellence

The Atlantic Cape Review, Atlantic Cape Community College’s student-run newspaper, has been recognized for journalistic excellence by the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association’s College Better Newspaper Contest 2010-2011. The staff submitted entries and won in two groups in the two-year college circulation division.
Madison Russ of Ocean City, ACR’s co-editor during the spring semester, won first place in the News Writing Category for her article, “Crime Logs Available for Students and Anti-Bullying Policy,” which was published in the February 2011 edition. In the Enterprise/Investigative Reporting category, Arielle Reamer of Galloway, staff writer, won second place for her article, “College Students Face Domestic Violence,” also published in the February edition.
The winners were honored at the New Jersey Collegiate Press Association’s Awards Program and Luncheon April 16 in Trenton. Each winner received a certificate of accomplishment.
Marge Nocito of Egg Harbor City is the faculty advisor. The Atlantic Cape Review is published monthly during the academic year, October through May, by Atlantic Cape students.
