150 Atlantic Cape Students Receive $187,316 in Scholarships

One hundred fifty students were awarded 107 scholarships totaling $187,316 at Atlantic Cape Community College’s 44th Annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony May 16. The scholarships and their recipients include:

AAUW Marion MacEwan Second Chance Scholarship—awarded to a Cape May County female who has completed at least 15 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Presented to Dawn Kremp and Jennifer Sedesse both of Villas.

Alyce Van Sant Eshbach Scholarship—awarded to a returning female student who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County and is an allied health major in good academic standing. Presented to Sharon Burst of Estell Manor.

American Association of University Women AC Branch Scholarship—awarded to a graduating female student who plans to attend Richard Stockton College in a baccalaureate program. Must be an Atlantic or Cape May County resident with high scholastic ability and good moral character. Presented to Rebecca Burgard of Landisville and Arnelle Lyles of Atlantic City.

Andy J. Scholarship—awarded to a full-time student majoring in culinary arts or business. Presented to Hsing-Yi Chou of Galloway.

Anita Metzger Scholarship—awarded to a second-year student majoring in child development/child care education. Presented to Kathleen Cortes of Egg Harbor Township.

Anonymous Scholarship—awarded to a culinary student with a minimum of 12 credits non-developmental, in good academic standing. Student must have a GPA 2.5 or better. Awarded to Dawn M. Simons of Camden.

Anthony A. Ercolani Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major entering his/her second year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Kyle Carpenter of Sicklerville.

Anthony A. Previti Family Charitable Foundation Inc. Scholarship—awarded to one male and one female majoring in education, medicine, law or engineering. Presented to Kennedy Logogye of Pleasantville and Jennifer Orlando of Hammonton.

Art Club Achievement Award—awarded to a full- or part-time studio arts student. Presented to Sara Elizabeth Dorety of Ocean View and Kristin Watson of Pleasantville.

Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Endowment Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Kenneth Martin of Mays Landing and Elizabeth Penn of Upper Deerfield.

Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to second-year culinary arts majors who are outstanding in attendance and ethics with three letters of recommendation from chef educators and in good academic standing. Atlantic Cape Faculty and Staff Scholarship Fund—awarded to a second‑year student who has demonstrated excellence. Presented to Jessica Sandberg of Ventnor.

Atlantic City and County Board of Realtors Scholarship—awarded to a graduating student who is continuing his or her education at a four-year institution. Presented to Kelly McHale of Egg Harbor Township and Julianne Scott of Barnegat.

Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Culinary Scholarship—awarded to culinary arts majors in good academic standing who are involved in student activities and display leadership qualities. Presented to Philip Carollo of Barnegat.

Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Hal Young Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts student who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Student must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Presented to Barry Mostyn of Cherry Hill.

Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Howard Persina Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a hospitality major in good academic standing who desires to work in the Atlantic City area upon graduation. Presented to Helen Rossi of Mays Landing.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Jonathan Benanav Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Joanne Pereira of Galloway.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Mark Etess Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Diane Perrin of Seaville.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Stephen Hyde Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Nikol Folk of Egg Harbor Township.

Atlantic City Restaurant Association Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major in good academic standing with three letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Adam Bowers of Mays Landing.

Atlantic City Soroptimist Scholarship—awarded to a female student in the health care field with good academic background and involved in community service. Presented to Gira Patel of Egg Harbor Township.

Barbara Rimm Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a graduating nursing student who exemplifies a genuine love and knowledge for the nursing profession and shows courage, fortitude and love for their fellow man. Presented to Kimberley Beuttel-Fox of Egg Harbor Township.

Baucus & Co. Scholarship—awarded to Cape May County students majoring in business administration. Presented to Valerie Craver of Ocean City; Lizbeth Johnson-Canizzaro of Petersburg; Lisa Martinelli of Marmora; Joseph Pettit of Cape May Court House and Gina Stalworth of Mays Landing.

Boardwalk Regents Club Scholarship—awarded to a disabled student who is a graduate of Atlantic County Special

Services or is interested in the pursuit of a career working with the disabled. Presented to Anthony Lanzilotti of Brigantine.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to a second-year culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics and have two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Jennifer Keeper of Margate.

Cape May County Chamber of Commerce “School Counts” Scholarship—awarded to a full-time Cape May County student majoring in business or communication. Presented to Jennifer Sedesse of Villas.

Cape May County Championship Golf Endowment Scholarship—awarded to students with a GPA of 2.5 of higher. Presented to Nathaniel Berger of Wildwood and Clenie Nemorin of Somers Point.

Cape May County Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship—awarded to Cape May County residents with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. CapeBank Charitable Foundation Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to returning culinary arts majors with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Amanda Palomino of Egg Harbor Township.

Careme’s Scholarship—awarded to second-year culinary arts majors in good academic standing. Presented to David Dobbins of Mays Landing.

Carole Ercolani Zaberer Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major entering his/her second year in good academic standing. Presented to Jenna Kisby of Galloway.

Charles Zaberer Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major entering his/her second year in good academic standing. Presented to Kevin Kinslow of Manchester and Gabriella Mannino of Hammonton.

Chelsea Neighborhood Association Scholarship—awarded to a resident of Atlantic City and is a hospitality management major. Presented to Terik Hampton of Atlantic City.

Clare Barone & Vincent Sabatini Endowment Scholarship—awarded to a mother who is a resident of Atlantic or

Cape May County who is seeking to further her career. Presented to Sarrah Zura of Margate.

Colonel John L. and Ruth M. Lee Scholarship—awarded to a second-year Atlantic County student majoring in nursing and/or allied health. Presented to Karimah White of Mays Landing.

DAR Scholarship/Gen. Lafayette Chapter—awarded to a graduating history or liberal arts major residing in Atlantic County and transferring to a four-year school. Presented to Nina Yang of Egg Harbor Township.

Debbie Clark Nursing & Allied Health Award—awarded to a nursing student in the clinical part of the program. Must be a member of the Student Nurses Club and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and three letters of recommendation. Presented to Casi Pettit of Petersburg.

Domenico Caruso Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a veteran student who received an eligible discharge. Must be a resident of Atlantic or Cape May County with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Javier Vega of Mays Landing.

Donald P. Crescenzo, D.D.S. Scholarship—awarded to a full-time Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in science. Presented to Jeneen Luma of Egg Harbor Township.

Dr. Oliver Henderson Memorial Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County resident with at least 28 credits earned at Atlantic Cape or the N.J. Marine Science Consortium. Must be an environmental marine or public health major with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Presented to Chantel McDowell of Mays Landing.

Edward James Yoa Memorial Award—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County resident who earned at least 25 credits at Atlantic Cape with a GPA of 3.4 and plans to transfer. Presented to Michael Woodworth of Hammonton.

Edwin Zaberer Scholarship for Academic Excellence—awarded to a second-year culinary arts major in good academic standing. Presented to Barry Mostyn of Cherry Hill.

ELMS Scholarship—awarded to a male or female current or returning English as a Second Language student. Presented to Momtez Begum of Atlantic City.

George C. Donaghue Memorial Scholarship Fund—awarded to a second-year full-time student majoring in travel and tourism or hospitality management. Presented to Nikol Folk of Egg Harbor Township.

Grace M. Caruso Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a male or female student majoring in culinary or nursing and a resident of Cape May County with a 3.0 GPA. Presented to Morgan Reeves of Ocean City and Christine Spedding of Wildwood.

Greater Atlantic City Region Tourism Council Hospitality/Tourism Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student majoring in tourism/hospitality. Presented to Elizabeth Hemmingway of Wildwood Crest.

Harrah’s Entertainment Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to returning culinary arts majors with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Reuben Gutierrez of Sicklerville and Peter Zeck of Oaklyn.

Helen Dilks Eshbach Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student majoring in business in good academic standing who is a resident of Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Tanzela Riaz of Atlantic City.

 International Assoc. of Administrative Professionals Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student majoring in Office Systems Technology with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Robyn Boykin of Absecon.

James H. Boyd Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full-time Cape May or Atlantic County student who is interested in pursuing a career in government or politics. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Wanda Lugo of Ventnor.

James D. Schofield Scholarship—awarded to a nursing student who has entered the clinical portion of the program based on demonstrated potential in nursing. Presented to Jill Geller of Ocean City.

Jamie Crescenzo Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full-time Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in criminal justice. Presented to Tammy Delquadro of Brigantine.

Jane Scharfetter Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student from Atlantic or Cape May County majoring in education. Presented to Kathleen Cortes of Egg Harbor Township.

Joan Fineran Nursing Scholarship—awarded to two nursing students from either Atlantic or Cape May County. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Tracy Rocap of Estell Manor and Donna Taylor of Cape May.

Joseph O’Connor “Pay It Forward” Scholarship—awarded to a Cape May County resident with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Samantha Nunlist of Rio Grande.

Joseph R. Dougherty Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major who is in his/her second year and be a resident of Atlantic County. Presented to Nydia Rodriguez of Mays Landing.

Joseph T. McGrellis Jr. Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student majoring in sciences or nursing with a GPA of 3.0. Recipient must have a strong work ethic and proven academic excellence in the sciences and be a resident of Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Kevin Mallon of Cape May.

Joy Eshbach Roehnert Scholarship—awarded to a female nursing major in good academic standing, who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Joann Jandras of Egg Harbor Tonwship.

Joyce Dana Memorial—awarded to a female student who desires to do research in any science field. Good academic record. Presented to Neha Pandya of Egg Harbor Township.

Karen M. Brown Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a student who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in mathematics. Recipient must demonstrate qualities of strong character and high motivation. Presented to Brooke Allen of Mays Landing and Mohamed Elseaedy of Egg Harbor Township.

Kevin Cooper Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a returning full- or part-time liberal arts student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Presented to Luis Almeyda of Mays Landing.

Kimberly Joyce Myers Scholarship—awarded to culinary arts student with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Presented to Christina Martin of Mays Landing.

Libby Demp Forrest Moore Memorial Writing Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student interested in a career in journalism or writing with a GPA of at least 2.5. Presented to Ryan Sheehy of Somers Point.

Lorraine Cooper Memorial—awarded to full- or part-time student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be an Atlantic County resident. Presented to Prince Afreh of Atlantic City.

Lucille P. Lupton Foundation Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major. Presented to Belinda Chester of Egg

Major League Management Endowment Fund—awarded to a culinary arts major, preferably first-generation college bound, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Presented to Terrance Harris of Egg Harbor City.

Margaret Wright Nursing Award—awarded to a Cape May County second-year nursing student. Presented to Jill Geller of Ocean City.

Maria L. Fabel Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full-time nursing student from Atlantic or Cape May County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Kristie Baxter of Minotola.

Marion White Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a returning Atlantic Cape student from Atlantic or Cape May County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference given to a studio arts major with special emphasis on folk craft and painting art. Presented to Benjamin Sotomayer of Mays Landing.

Mary E. Donaldson Haynie Scholarship—awarded to a female student who is a resident of Cape May or Atlantic County who is returning to the workforce. Presented to Loretta Sutton of Galloway.

Mary Tower Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a student who has completed at least 12 credits, but not more than 40 credits. Presented to Cynthia Webb of Atlantic City.

Melvin L. Newton Scholarship—awarded to an EOF student involved in community and campus activities. Presented to Kristin Watson of Pleasantville and Tiffany Weyant of Villas.

Michael F. Gardner Scholarship—awarded to a business administration major and a resident of Cape May County. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA or higher. Presented to Rosislava Velikova of Cape May.

Mid Jersey Cape Rotary Scholarship—awarded to a Cape May County resident who is returning to college or beginning his/her secondary education after being in the workforce. Presented to Louiza Belali of Rio Grande.

NJ Assoc. of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship—awarded to a full- or part-time student of Atlantic or Cape May County as an office systems technology major. Presented to Robyn Boykin of Absecon.

Nate Allen Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full-time culinary arts major who is a resident of Cape May County or graduate of a Cape May County high school. Presented to Dawn Pitt of Burleigh.

National Tour Association Scholarship—awarded to a full or part-time student pursuing a degree in hospitality or travel and tourism. Presented to Nikol Folk of Egg Harbor Township.

New Jersey Assoc. of Public Accountants-Atlantic Chapter—awarded to a second-year accounting major. Presented to Junwen Feng of Ventnor.

Newfield National Bank Cape May Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship—awarded to a Cape May County student with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Mark Moses of Petersburg.

Nicholas Rettino Memorial Scholarship—awarded to an accounting major with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Presented to Junwen Feng of Ventnor and Cheryl Keenan of Ocean City.

Paul Rigby Scholarship—awarded to a part-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented Joshua Alcoba of Galloway.

PR Council of Greater Atlantic City “Shore” Scholarship—awarded to a communication major who plans to transfer to a baccalaureate communication or public relations program. Must be a resident of Atlantic County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Erin Martin of Mays Landing.

Private Louis Caruso II Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a veteran student who received an eligible discharge. Must be a resident of Atlantic or Cape May County with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Javier Vega of Mays Landing.

Rachelle Stover Memorial Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic County resident majoring in hospitality management with a GPA of 2.5 or higher transferring to a baccalaureate hospitality program. Presented to Megan Powell of Egg Harbor Township.

Ralph Russell Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full-time student majoring in math or science and be a resident of Cape May County with a 3.5 GPA. Presented to Deeba Khan of Atlantic City.

Ruth L. Williams Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a student seeking a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. Presented to Christine Spedding of Wildwood.

Samuel A. Donio Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a second-year history or education major who has demonstrated service to community and school. Must be a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Henyi Rivera of Galloway.

Samuel and Gladys Levinson Scholarship—awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County high school graduate showing scholastic ability who will return to Atlantic Cape in the fall. Presented to Jovanni Cifaloglio of Vineland.

Science/Math Division Award—awarded to a full- or part-time second-year math or science major with at least 24 credits and a GPA of 3.25 in their major and an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Le Rong Chen of Atlantic City.

SouthShore Foundation Health Education Scholarship—awarded to a student studying for a health-related career. Presented to Erika Himstedt of Egg Harbor Township.

SouthShore Foundation Scholarship—awarded to allied health or nursing students who are enrolled in the clinical portion of the program with two faculty recommendations. Presented to Charlie Adomanis of Hammonton; Kristie Baxter of Minotola; Kelly Dwyer of Ocean View; April Gall of Villas and Hammad Malik of Egg Harbor City.

Tanya Smith Memorial Child Care Scholarship—awarded to a returning child development/child care major in good academic standing. Presented to Lee Ann Klinger of Northfield.

Tee It Up for Nursing Scholarship—awarded to a nursing student with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be a resident of Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Dawn Kremp and Elizabeth Ruffer both of Cape May.

Terence Hutchison Memorial Award—awarded to a returning student who demonstrates interest in computer science technology. Presented to Cynthia Concepcion of Atlantic City.

Terence Hutchison Memorial Endowment Scholarship—awarded to a returning student who demonstrates interest in computer science or technology. Presented to Vaibhav Pandya of Mays Landing.

The Teresa L. Turton Nursing Scholarship Foundation—awarded to a second-year nursing student with a minimum 3.5 GPA who is interested in working in trauma ICU. Presented to Joann Jandras of Egg Harbor Township.

The WIBCA/GEMS Memorial Scholarship Fund—awarded to a minority student to facilitate his/her retention in school. Presented to Brandon Price of Woodbine.

Thomas C. Conover Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a science major transferring to a baccalaureate program in science in good academic standing. Presented to Tarak Pandya of Egg Harbor Township.

Trump Entertainment Resorts Restaurant Gala Scholarship—awarded to a returning culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics and have two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Kathleen Fitzpartick of Galloway.

V. Lawrence Brice Endowment Scholarship—awarded to culinary arts majors with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Presented to Sean Brining of Cherry Hill.

William R. Conn Memorial Scholarship—awarded to a full‑time accounting major entering the second-year of study in good academic standing. Presented to Krupa Pandya of Mays Landing.

William Sprinzing Endowment Fund Scholarship—awarded to a culinary arts major who has completed five culinary classes in good academic standing who is outstanding in attendance and ethics and has three letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Kenneth Martin of Mays Landing.
