Oct. 6 Golf Tournament to Benefit Atlantic Cape Students

The 2011 Atlantic Cape Community College Scramble “Fore” Scholarships golf tournament is planned for Thursday, Oct. 6, at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May. Partnering with the Atlantic Cape Foundation, CMNGC will host the tournament to support student scholarships and Foundation operations.
The tournament will follow a scramble format, beginning with a shotgun-start at
11 a.m. Player fees, which include gift bags, lunch and a dinner awards banquet, are $125 per person and $500 per foursome.
The Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May will host and cater the awards dinner. Dessert will be prepared by students at Atlantic Cape’s Academy of Culinary Arts.
This year, golfers can participate in skills challenges, including a rowboat toss on the 18th hole and a putting contest. Individuals and businesses can also participate in six sponsorship package opportunities ranging from $100 to $5,000. Last year’s event raised $27,000 for Atlantic Cape scholarships and Foundation operations.
Located on Route 9 near renowned Victorian Cape May, and centrally located along one of the world’s most famous bird migration flyways, Cape May National has been recognized as one of the most naturally beautiful courses in the United States.
Founded in 1978 as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation is dedicated to serving the mission of Atlantic Cape by providing financial support to the college and its students. In its history, the Foundation has raised more than $2 million for college scholarships, Foundation operations, academic programs and enhancing the campus environment.
