Careme’s, the student-run, gourmet restaurant at the Academy of Culinary Arts, will open for dinner Aug. 29, offering a fine dining experience that’s unique in South Jersey. Careme’s is located at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike, in Mays Landing.
The buffet dinner features an array of fruits and cheeses, chilled gourmet salads, seasonal soups, hot entrees, vegetables, potatoes and an assortment of homemade pastries.
Careme’s is open Monday-Friday, when classes are in session. Dinner service begins at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, call (609) 343-4940.
The restaurant is named after the first “celebrity chef” in culinary history, Marie-Antoine Careme. Careme’s command of culinary art was so famous in the early 19th century that he became known as “the chef of kings and the king of chefs.”
