Atlantic Cape Launches New Green & Sustainable Living Classes

Atlantic Cape Community College will offer new green & sustainable living courses in March for professionals interested in learning about backflow prevention and LEED green building. All workshops are approved by the American Institute of Architects for continuing education units.
Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Training and Certification is an ideal course for plumbers, facilities managers, architects, builders and construction officials. Participants will learn how to test backflow prevention devices, principles and methods of cross-connection control and devices used to prevent backflow of undesirable substances into water distribution and plumbing systems, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, beginning March 12.
LEED Green Associate PLUS is a two-day course that prepares beginning green building professionals to pass the Green Building Certification Institute’s LEED Green Associate exam. The course provides an overview of the Core Concepts of Sustainable Design and the nine LEED Green Building Rating Systems, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, March 13-14.
Backflow Prevention Program Administrator/Specialty Training and Certification will provide the necessary training and testing for individuals seeking certification as a Backflow Prevention Program Administrator. Participants will learn the basics of backflow hydraulics, safety, cross-connection information, terminology and more, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, beginning March 19.
Green & Sustainable Living workshops will be offered at the Mays Landing and Mays Landing East campuses, 5100 Black Horse Pike.
