Free Lecture, From Middle Township to Mali, April 19 at CMCC
March 27, 2012
Atlantic Cape Community College invites you to join us for an informative evening about studying abroad, with emphasis on the art and culture of the West African Republic of Mali at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 19, Room 212 at the Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House.
Guest speaker Angie Vitale, a graduate of Atlantic Cape and Middle Township High School, will share her journey through the French-speaking republic where she studied in 2011, the art forms she learned there, and some nuts-and-bolts tips about studying abroad. Vitale is a student at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
The Republic of Mali is a modern, multi-party, democratic state and home to more than a dozen distinct cultural groups, each with a long and distinguished history. Mali is renowned as home to some of the world’s most impressive art, dance, music and artisan traditions throughout Africa and the entire world.
Whether you are considering a semester abroad or simply want to take an armchair visit to a distant land, the event is free and open to the public.
