Atlantic Cape Offers Short-Term Health Career Training

Those who wish to pursue careers in the expanding health care field have many training options at the Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College. Some short-term health career training programs with ongoing enrollment include:
Certified Home Health Aide prepares students to work at home health care agencies, providing basic personal care for patients in their homes. This new program teaches a wide range of skills to prepare participants for certification.
Medical Assistant equips students with the training needed to perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties in the offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors and other health care facilities.
CPR/AED/BLS gives hands-on practice in infant, child and adult CPR, plus first aid for obstructed airways. Heart attack and stroke signs and factors, basic anatomy of the cardiopulmonary structure, drowning, spinal injuries and more will be reviewed.
Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid offers training for lay rescuers to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies with adult, child and infant victims. This workshop is ideal for first responders who will manage illness and injury until professional help arrives.
The HPI also offers the following online courses: Medical Transcription, Medical Transcription with Medical Terminology, Pharmacy Technician and Administrative Veterinary Assistant.
