Atlantic Cape Honors Charles Pessagno of Galloway with Presidentís Distinguished Foundation Board Member Award

Atlantic Cape Community College conferred the second President’s Distinguished Foundation Board Member Award to Charles Pessagno of Galloway, regional executive vice president of Marsh & McLennan Agency, at the college’s 45th annual commencement May 17.
Pessagno has been a member of the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation since 2001 and served as president from 2008-2009. He has chaired the annual Scramble “Fore” Scholarships Golf Tournament committee, and serves on the Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala committee. He was also a member of the college’s Board of Trustees. Most recently, Pessagno has served as a cabinet member for the “Create Opportunity: The Capital & Scholarship Campaign for Atlantic Cape Community College,” a project that creates scholarship opportunities for Atlantic Cape students and raises funds to purchase lab equipment for the Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Building. Pessagno earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science degree at Bethel College.
“As a graduate of a community college, I am truly honored and humbled to receive this award. I accept this award on behalf of my fellow board members who have generously given of their time, talent and treasure to this institution,” Pessagno said.
The award, initiated by a special committee of the Foundation Board, recognizes a current or past member of the board who has demonstrated leadership, advocacy and support on behalf of the college and its students. The 2011 recipient was James Cooper Esq. of Margate, president emeritus of the Atlantic Cape Foundation.
