ACCC Student Kelley Adams Named to 2006 All-NJ Academic Team
May 5, 2006TRENTON—Kelley Adams, Mays Landing, a student at Atlantic Cape May Community College, was named to the 2006 New Jersey All-State Academic Team for “outstanding accomplishments as a community college student.”
The Oakcrest High School graduate, who is studying at ACCC on a state-funded NJ STARS scholarship, was one of the 36 state academic team members honored on May 4, at the Lafayette Yard Marriott Hotel here.
She is working toward a liberal arts degree with an education option. Adams’ career goal is to become an elementary school teacher.
The fete was sponsored by the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, in association with Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement and exceptional service to their communities as members of PTK.
Representatives of the governor’s office and the legislature joined honorees at the Statehouse to share in honoring their accomplishments.
