Atlantic Cape Bookstore Reduces Carbon Footprint this Fall; Shopping Bags Available by Request Only
July 26, 2012
Atlantic Cape Community College’s Bookstore, operated by Follett Higher Education Group, will limit the number of shopping bags it distributes starting this fall. This initiative is aimed at reducing the carbon imprint used to produce the disposable bags.
· Bookstore associates will no longer automatically place purchased items in shopping bags.
· Customers can obtain disposable bags by request only.
· Students can support these efforts by using backpacks, purses or reusable bags when carrying merchandise from Atlantic Cape’s bookstore.
“Many of our students actively seek opportunities to reduce their environmental impact and this simple step can contribute greatly to individual and campus sustainability goals,” Catherine Adair, bookstore manager, said.
The Atlantic Cape bookstore’s other “green” initiatives include: the year-round buyback service and rental and digital textbook offerings. Contact 609-625-5205, email@example.com or visit http://bit.ly/eP8Jr9 to learn more about Atlantic Cape’s bookstore.
