Score Big with Chef Annmarie Chelius' Healthy Game Day Snack

Chef Annmarie Chelius of Ocean City, educator at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts, shares a recipe for a simple and sweet Game Day snack that’s both kid- and figure-friendly.
Strawberries and Cream with Crunchy Garnish
- 1 quart strawberries, washed and with stems
- 4 ounces low-fat cream cheese
- 4 ounces vanilla Greek yogurt
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups crushed garnish: Grape Nuts cereal, Rice Krispies, graham crackers, etc.*
1.) In a large bowl, whip the cream cheese, honey and vanilla. Fold in the Greek yogurt.
2.) Dip strawberries in the cream mixture.
3.) Place healthy cereal/graham crackers in a plastic bag and “crush” mixture using hands, a pan or a rolling pin.*
4.) Carefully dip strawberries in the crunchy garnish.
5.) Place each strawberry in a paper cup or cupcake liner to serve to guests.
*Home chefs can substitute garnish with any healthy cereal or snack of their choice.
*Children can get involved with this recipe by helping to crush the crunchy garnish mixture.
