January 30, 2013
The Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation received a donation from South Jersey Gas customers, Jan. 28, for the School Counts scholarship fund to benefit Atlantic and Cape May County students who have earned the School Counts certificate.
South Jersey Gas President Jeffrey DuBois presented a check for $47,628 to Atlantic Cape Community College President Dr. Peter Mora.
The funds were raised by South Jersey Gas customers who donated $1 to the School Counts program via their gas bills.
“Atlantic Cape is grateful for the efforts of South Jersey Gas in School Counts. The School Counts program is designed to prepare high school students for the workforce and post-secondary education and to promote student achievement in New Jersey’s schools,” Dr. Peter Mora, Atlantic Cape president, said. To earn a School Counts certificate, students must maintain a minimum “C” average in all academic courses, an attendance and punctuality record of 95 percent and complete high school in eight consecutive semesters.
