April 9, 2013
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations awarded a Silver Paragon to Atlantic Cape Community College during its recent national conference in Chicago. The award, in the Communications Success Story category, recognized the public relations plan and media coverage received for the 2012 Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala.
Chelsea Pizzi of Pitman, public relations and social media specialist at Atlantic Cape, prepared the winning entry. She serves with college and community representatives on the Restaurant Gala committee, which works year-round to ensure the success of the event, which has raised about $3 million in its 30-year history.
Also at the conference, Kathy J. Corbalis, APR, was elected NCMPR vice president/president-elect. The Mays Landing resident has served on the group’s national board for seven years, serving as District 1 director, director-at-large and secretary.
NCMPR, an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges, provides professional development services for nearly 1,600 public relations and marketing professionals at two-year colleges in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
