Careme’s Restaurant to Open for Fall Semester Aug. 27; Features ‘Welcome Back’ Lunch Special

Careme’s, the student-run, gourmet restaurant at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts, will open for the fall semester on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

To celebrate the new academic year, Academy students, under the direction of Chef Joseph Sheridan of Ocean City, will prepare a “Welcome Back” lunch special for $8.95 per person (plus tax and gratuity) until Monday, Sept. 9. 

ACA’s student-chefs also make all dessert pastries, breads and rolls. Tableside cooking may be offered.

Careme’s, located at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, offers a fine dining experience that’s unique in South Jersey. The restaurant is open Monday-Friday, August-December and January-May, when classes are in session. Guests are seated for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. For reservations, call (609) 343-4940.

The restaurant is named after the first “celebrity chef” in culinary history, Marie-Antoine Careme. Careme’s command of culinary art was so famous in the early 19th century that he became known as “the chef of kings and the king of chefs.”
