Taste Your Way Around The World With ACA Dessert Series

Atlantic Cape Community College’s Academy of Culinary Arts will offer dessert enthusiasts opportunities to learn how to prepare an assortment of sweet treats just in time for the holidays. Chef Mary Lou D’Angelo ’85 ACA of Ventnor City will lead the series. Classes will be structured as a demonstration and tasting with class participant assistance.
Explore three classic French pastries: Crème Brulee, Crepes with fresh fruit and Pithiviers (a “pie” made from puff pastry, Frangipane and fruit) in French Desserts, Oct. 16.
Learn how to prepare Sfogliatelle, Semolina cake and Zabaglione with fresh fruit, just like Grandma used to make, in Italian Desserts, Oct. 30.
Learn how to make a traditional Flan, Tarta de Santiago (St. James’ Cake) and Chocolate Banana Empanadas, in Spanish Desserts, Nov. 20.
Discover an assortment of sweets including cheese and cherry strudel, Linzer tortes, apple dumplings and more in German Desserts, Dec. 11.
