Golf Tournament Raises More Than $23,000 for ACCC Students
October 23, 2006The 2006 Cape May County Championship Golf Tournament “Scramble Fore Scholarships” raised more than $23,000 for student aid at Atlantic Cape Community College. Held Oct. 13 at Cape May National Golf Club in Cape May, the tournament drew more than 60 players, including Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Famer Joe Watson.
Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships for Cape May County students attending ACCC and grants-in-aid for nursing students. The tournament’s presenting sponsor was Newfield National Bank, and it was also sponsored by Sturdy Savings Bank.
In its history, the Foundation has raised well over $1 million for college scholarships, academic programs and enhancing the campus environment. Founded in 1978 as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation is dedicated to serving the mission of ACCC by providing financial support to the college and its students. Foundation funds provide college scholarships to students with financial need, capital for campus improvements, and cultural and educational community outreach programs.
