Casino Career Institute Offers Slot Technician, Gaming Courses in Spring Semester
December 13, 2006
The Casino Career Institute, which has trained more than 50,000 people for careers in gaming, is offering courses this spring at Atlantic Cape Community College's Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus.
The 375-hour slot technician training prepares students for employment in the growing slot industry in casino hotels, cruise ships and resorts in the U.S. and abroad. Students receive hands-on training in the skills necessary to become a slot technician in ACCC's fully equipped slot lab and gain practical experience through an internship.
Gaming classes begin monthly and run from 20 to 375 hours. For the best hiring opportunities, CCI recommends that students begin with Introduction to Casino Games, then select one primary game and one, preferably two, secondary games.
Besides the introductory course (40 hours), CCI will offer blackjack (80 hours), craps (160 hours), baccarat (80 hours), poker (80 hours), pai gow tiles (80 hours), roulette (80 hours), pai gow poker (80 hours), carnival games, variations of poker, (20 hours), and slot technician (375 hours).
As part of ACCC, the Institute offers extensive college services to CCI students, including training on a large mock casino floor with a slot laboratory. Free and secure parking is also available.
