Academy of Culinary Arts Announces Spring Open House Dates
December 21, 2006
The Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College will host five open houses this spring at its Mays Landing Campus, including: 9 a.m., Friday, Feb. 23; 9 a.m., Friday, March 30, 9 a.m., Friday, April 13; 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 25; and 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 9. The open house events are open to anyone interested in beginning an exciting culinary career.
The Academy of Culinary Arts offers two-year degree programs in culinary arts, food service management and baking and pastry. Students can also earn a culinary arts or baking and pastry certificate in just three semesters or complete one of four short-term specializations in less than one year. Specialization options include baking and pastry, hot food, catering and food service management.
The ACA opened in 1981 and is celebrating 25 years of educating professional chefs. Full-time classes at the Academy meet five hours a day, Monday through Friday, in a morning or afternoon session from January through May and August through December. Part-time evening classes are offered two nights a week on eight-week cycles.
Because the ACA is a division of a public institution, it costs considerably less than comparable two‑year cooking schools. Scholarships, work‑study opportunities and financial aid are available.
