ACCC Wins Awards for Annual Restaurant Gala Publicity, Planning
December 19, 2007
Atlantic Cape Community College's College Relations department recently received several awards for its work in planning and promoting the 2007 Press of Atlantic City Restaurant Gala. The fundraiser, held in March, raised $240,000 for scholarships at ACCC's Academy of Culinary Arts.
The Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America recognized ACCC with a Pepperpot Award in the Development or Fundraising Category, which honors a public relations program or activities that support an outstanding fundraising program. The award was presented Dec. 6 at the 39th annual Pepperpot and Achievement Awards held at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia.
Stacey Clapp, public relations specialist, of Galloway developed the public relations program that captured the award. Accepting the award with her were Geoffrey Pettifer, director of marketing, of Galloway who created the 2007 Gala design concept and supporting marketing materials, and Kathy Corbalis, executive director of college relations and member of the Gala Executive Committee, from Glassboro.
College Relations staff members won three medallion awards at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District I Conference in Annapolis in November. The awards, for their work on the Restaurant Gala, included gold for Media Success Story, gold for Public/Community Relations campaign and silver for Notes/Cards/Invitations.
Finally, ACCC received a silver Jasper Award from the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association for its public relations work on the Gala in the "Special Event Planning/Special Event Series" category. The Jasper Awards honor excellence in New Jersey's public relations, marketing, advertising, design and communications industry.
