March 28, 2008
The College Relations Department of Atlantic Cape Community College captured a silver 2007 Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for its media relations work in connection with last year's Restaurant Gala.
The annual black-tie Press of Atlantic City Restaurant Gala benefits the Atlantic Cape Community Foundation to provide scholarships to students at ACCC's Academy of Culinary Arts. The event has raised approximately $1.7 million since its 1984 inception.
ACCC's entry was one of more than 2,000 submissions for recognition for outstanding communications by community, junior and technical colleges nationwide. The NCMPR award in the Media Success Story category was presented at the organization's recent national conference in Savannah, Ga.
Kathy Corbalis of Glassboro, ACCC's executive director of communications and college relations, accepted the award on behalf of the college. Public Relations Specialist Stacey Clapp of Galloway prepared the award-winning publicity.
