ACCC Honors Retiring Foundation Board President
June 26, 2008
Atlantic Cape Community College honored outgoing Foundation Board President Lynda Pagliughi during its June 12 meeting.
The Avalon resident, a retired economic development specialist with the South Jersey Transportation Authority, was named board president in November, 2004. She was the first female president of the foundation, which was established in 1978 as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to serve the mission of ACCC by providing financial support to the college and its students.
Prior to this appointment, Pagliughi had served as a board member for five years, including two as vice president. She also was a long-time member of the college's executive committee for the ACCC Restaurant Gala.
During the meeting, incoming foundation President Charles Pessagno of Cape May praised Pagliughi for her numerous contributions to the foundation, including the increase in scholarships, higher special events net proceeds and more active members on the board that occurred during her presidency. In addition to the foundation members giving her flowers and an inscribed Tiffany bowl, ACCC President Dr. Peter L. Mora presented Pagliughi with the college's first honorary lifetime membership in the ACCC Alumni Association.
