New Professional Development Classes Aid Career Advancement

Businesspersons can climb the ladder to success with the new professional development classes at Atlantic Cape Community College.

The Certificate in Project Management course, 6-9 p.m., 12 Thursdays beginning Sept. 18 at the Mays Landing Campus, is designed to give managers a greater edge in today's complex industry. The course provides the requirements to sit for the Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional exam.

There's also a new online Project Management Fundamentals course to help meet the growing demand for organized, detail-oriented managers in various businesses. The class is ongoing.

The Introduction to Water and Wastewater Treatment course trains operators in the proper procedure for maintaining water plants, 6-9 p.m., 30 Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Sept. 22 at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, 6700 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township.

Would-be teachers who prefer working with grownups can attend the Art of Teaching Adults, a self-paced course, 9 a.m.-noon, beginning Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus.

Career changers who wish to leave the corporate rat race behind to pursue their dreams will learn how to take the leap with How to Follow Your Passion in the Creative Job Field, 6-8 p.m., four Wednesdays beginning Oct. 1 at the Mays Landing Campus.

Spanish for Managers, 9-11 a.m., five Wednesdays beginning Oct. 15 at the Institute for Service Excellence, is designed to aid business administrators in communicating with the growing number of Hispanics in the workforce.

With the new Business Ethics class, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, participants can learn about the important procedures to manage behavior in the business world.

The Mays Landing Campus is at 5100 Black Horse Pike; the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus is at 1535 Bacharach Blvd.; the Institute for Service Excellence is in the Hamilton Mall (near Sears), 4403 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing.
