Health Professions Institute Announces New Training Options

Individuals interested in pursuing careers in the booming health care field now have many options to train at the Health Professions Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College. Courses beginning this fall include:
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), beginning Oct. 26, trains you for entry-level employment in health care settings, with both classroom and clinical experience.
- Certified Home Health Aide for CNAs, beginning Nov. 21, is designed for current CNAs interested in becoming Home Health Aides.
- Certified Nurse Aide Recertification, beginning Nov. 20, is ideal for CNAs certified in New Jersey less than five years ago but have let their certification lapse.
- Medical Assistant, beginning Oct. 26, trains individuals for a variety of administrative and clinical duties in health care facilities.
Beginning in the spring, with exact start date to be announced, the Health Professions Institute will introduce Advanced Surgical Technology, which is designed as an alternative route for current surgical technologists who wish to obtain their Certified Surgical Technologist credentials.
The HPI also offers the following online courses with open registration: Medical Transcription Certificate, Medical Transcription with Medical Terminology, Pharmacy Technician and Administrative Veterinary Assistant.
