Works by Press Staff Photographer Edward Lea Displayed at ACCC Art Gallery in February
February 2, 2006MAYS LANDING--Photographs by Edward B. Lea of Pleasantville, a staff photographer with The Press of Atlantic City since 1996, are on display at the Atlantic Cape Community College Art Gallery on the Mays Landing Campus, Feb. 6-March 3. A reception to meet the artist will be held 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12. It is free and open to the public.
Lea discovered his passion for photography at 16 when he began photographing portfolios for aspiring models. He turned professional and took a job as a commercial photographer in 1980, which allowed him to expand his artistry and hone his innovative lighting.
By being in Atlantic City, Lea accumulated experience at photographing conventions and conferences, breaking news, and sports, covering major boxing events in Atlantic City and professional teams in Philadelphia and New York.
Lea’s photography is recognized throughout the tri-state area. He has been honored with several awards in New Jersey for outstanding sports photography. With his background in news, Lea has adapted to any setting and situation to capture strong images.
