Casino Industry Executive to Speak at Atlantic Cape Commencement

Don Marrandino, president of the Eastern Division of Harrah's Entertainment Inc., will deliver the keynote address to Atlantic Cape Community College's Class of 2010 at the school's 43rd annual commencement, 11 a.m., Thursday, May 20.
In September 2009, Marrandino began overseeing Harrah's Resort Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City, Bally's Atlantic City and Harrah's Chester. The popular "Go Rooms" unveiled at the Flamingo Las Vegas were honored under Marrandino's guidance in 2007 for Creative Achievement by the prestigious Hospitality Design Awards.
Marrandino is best known for developing personal relationships and strategic partnerships with top-notch entertainment talent and brands. He has worked with artists including: The Eagles, Toby Keith, Sammy Hagar, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith.
Recognized for his successful casino management experience and career-long emphasis on customer service and innovation, Marrandino has spearheaded numerous projects in casinos throughout Reno, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas, Nev.
As former president and COO of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Marrandino pioneered in creating an atmosphere appealing to the Generation X market. He established ultra-nightclubs, celebrity chef restaurants and put Hard Rock on the map as a prominent entertainment venue in the city.
