134 Students Receive $131,825 in Scholarships

One hundred thirty-four students were awarded 176 scholarships totaling $131,825 at Atlantic Cape Community College's 43rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Ceremony on May 17. The scholarships and their recipients include:

AAUW Marion MacEwan Second Chance Scholarship-awarded to a Cape May County female who has completed at least 15 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Presented to Dawn Kremp of Villas and Jennifer Sedesse of Cape May Court House.

ACCC Scholarship Fund-awarded in recognition of outstanding applicants who did not meet the established criteria of other scholarships. Presented to Jacquelyn Loder of Linwood and Rodney Matthews of Atlantic City.

Albert Jones Award-awarded to a student aspiring toward a career in the human services field. Presented to April-Marie Gall of Villas.

Alyce Van Sant Eshbach Scholarship-awarded to a returning female student who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County and is an allied health major in good academic standing. Presented to Dawn Ruiz of Galloway.

American Association of University Women AC Branch Scholarship-awarded to a graduating sophomore female student who plans to attend Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in a baccalaureate program. Must be an Atlantic or Cape May County resident with high scholastic ability and good moral character. Presented to Maryfrancis Cahill of Egg Harbor Township.

Andy J. Scholarship-awarded to a full time student majoring in culinary arts or business. Presented to Valerie Craver of Seaville.

Anthony A. Ercolani Scholarship-awarded to a culinary arts major entering his/her second year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Elisa Mitchell of Atlantic City.

Arax Mardirosian Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full or part-time student majoring in education from Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to William Perna, II of Sweetwater.

Art Club Achievement Award-awarded to a full- or part-time Studio Arts student. Presented to Angela Vitale of Rio Grande and Kristin Watson of Pleasantville.

Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Endowment Scholarship-awarded to a culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Galloway; Reuben Gutierrez of Sicklerville; Kristen Hughes of Turnersville; Elisa Mitchell of Atlantic City; and Dawn Pitt of Burleigh.

Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala Scholarship-awarded to second year culinary arts majors who are outstanding in attendance and ethics with three letters of recommendation from chef educators and in good academic standing. Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Culinary Scholarship-awarded to culinary arts majors in good academic standing who are involved in student activities and display leadership qualities. Presented to Reuben Gutierrez of Sicklerville.

Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Hal Young Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a culinary arts student who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Student must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Presented to Gale Cullinane of Ocean City.

Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association Howard Persina Scholarship-awarded to a hospitality major in good academic standing who desires to work in the Atlantic City area upon graduation. Presented to Diane Perrin of Seaville.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Jonathan Benanav Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Mandeep Kaur of Vineland.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Mark Etess Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Allyson of Sannino of Ocean City.

Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association-Stephen Hyde Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a hospitality major who is involved in student activities and displays leadership qualities. Presented to Carly Wenz of Absecon.

Baucus & Co. Scholarship-awarded to Cape May County students majoring in business administration. Boardwalk Regent Club Scholarship-awarded to a disabled student who is a graduate of Atlantic County Special

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Restaurant Gala Scholarship-awarded to a second year culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics and have two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Tiffany Seaman of Bayville; Stacey Snyder of Ocean City and Ashley Tharp of Mays Landing.

Cape May County Chamber of Commerce "School Counts!" Scholarship-awarded to a full-time Cape May County student majoring in Business or Communications. Presented to Julianne Scott of Ocean View.

Cape May County Championship Golf Endowment Scholarship-awarded to students with a GPA of 2.5 of higher. Presented to Tammy Hoffa of Woodbine and Kevin Mallon of North Cape May.

Cape May County Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship-awarded to Cape May County residents with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. CapeBank Charitable Foundation Restaurant Gala Scholarship- awarded to returning culinary arts majors with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Ayanna Davis of Atlantic City; Jamal Lewis of Mays Landing; Kathleen Meiklejohn of Galloway; Warren Pascoe of Forked River and Jessica Schlosser of National Park.

Charles Zaberer Scholarship-awarded to a culinary arts major entering his/her second year in good academic standing. Presented to Kristen Hughes of Turnersville.

Chelsea Neighborhood Association Scholarship-awarded to a resident of Atlantic City and is a hospitality management major. Presented to Terik Hampton of Atlantic City.

Clare Barone & Vincent Sabatini Endowment Scholarship-awarded to a mother who is a resident of Atlantic or  

Cape May County who is seeking to further her career. Presented to Karen Donnell of Mays Landing.

DAR Scholarship/Gen. Lafayette Chapter-awarded to a graduating history or liberal arts major residing in Atlantic County and transferring to a four-year school. Presented to Amy Bowen of Mays Landing.

Edwin Zaberer Scholarship for Academic Excellence-awarded to a second year culinary arts major in good academic standing. Presented Tiffany Seaman of Bayville.

Elizabeth Ellis Scholarship-awarded to a student with at least 12 non-developmental classes in good academic standing. Presented Warren Pascoe of Forked River.

George C. Donaghue Memorial Scholarship Fund-awarded to a second year full-time student majoring in travel and tourism or hospitality management. Presented to Allyson Sannino of Ocean City.

Guthrie Glass & Mirror Gala, Inc. Restaurant Gala Scholarship- awarded to returning culinary arts majors with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by three letters of recommendation from chef educators Presented to Belinda Chester of Egg Harbor City and Christina Nguyen of Mays Landing.

Harrah's Entertainment Restaurant Gala Scholarship- awarded to returning culinary arts majors with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics as evidenced by two letters of recommendation from chef educators. James H. Boyd Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full-time Cape May or Atlantic County student who is interested in pursuing a career in government or politics. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to Kesha Cineus of Vineland.

Jamie Crescenzo Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full-time Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in criminal justice. Presented to Javier Vega of Mays Landing.

Jane Scharfetter Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full- or part-time student from Atlantic or Cape May county majoring in education. Presented to Kristen Gummel of Marmora.

Joan Fineran Nursing Scholarship-awarded to two nursing students from either Atlantic or Cape May county. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Kimberley Beuttel Fox of Egg Harbor Township and Mary Kruger of Williamstown.

John E. Stellman Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a returning full-or part-time student who has demonstrated support to fellow students in their learning process. Presented to Ryan Sheehy of Somers Point.

Joseph Messick Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a returning student who has earned 24 or more credits majoring in History or Liberal Arts or a member of the History/Government Club. Presented to Olga Sivko of Ventnor.

Joseph O'Connor "Play It Forward" Scholarship-awarded to a Cape May County resident with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Padriac Roney of Del Haven.

 Joseph R. Zelnik Memorial Journalism Scholarship-awarded to a student who plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in journalism, desires to work in newspaper journalism and displays talent and academic excellence. Presented to Tyler Carman

of North Cape May.

Joy Eshbach Roehnert Scholarship-awarded to a female nursing major in good academic standing, who resides in Atlantic or Cape May County. Presented to Dawn Kremp of Villas.

Karen M. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund-awarded to a student who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in mathematics. Recipient must demonstrate qualities of strong character and high motivation. Presented to Bang Tran of Galloway.

Kevin Cooper Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a returning full-or part-time liberal arts student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Presented to Akilah Hughes of Pleasantville and Waqar Khalid of Absecon.

Libby Demp Forrest Moore Memorial Writing Scholarship-awarded to a full- or part-time student interested in a

career in journalism or writing with a GPA of at least 2.5. Presented to Paul Venesz of Longport.

Lucille P. Lupton Scholarship-awarded to a student in good academic standing. Presented to Margo Silcox of Cape May Court House.

Margaret Wright Nursing Award-awarded to a Cape May County second year nursing student. Presented to Jonathan Morgan of Petersburg.

Marion White Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a returning ACCC student from Atlantic or Cape May County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference given to a Studio Arts major with special emphasis on Folk craft and painting art. Presented to Julia Luangrath of Mays Landing.

Michael F. Gardner Scholarship-awarded to a business administration major and a resident of Cape May county. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPS or higher. Presented to Lizbeth Johnson-Canizzaro of Ocean View.

Mid Jersey Cape Rotary Scholarship-awarded to a Cape May County resident who is returning to college or beginning his/her secondary education after being in the workforce. Presented to Marguerite Statesman of Wildwood.

NJ Assoc. of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship-awarded to a full or part-time student of Atlantic or Cape May county as a office systems technology major. Presented to Anne Kemp of Egg Harbor Township.

Nate Allen Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full-time culinary arts major who is a resident of Cape May County or graduate of a Cape May County high school. Presented to Dawn Pitt of Burleigh and Stacey Snyder of Ocean City.

National Tour Association Scholarship-awarded to a full or part-time student pursuing a degree in hospitality or travel and tourism. Presented to Allyson Sannino of Ocean City.

Newfield National Bank Cape May Championship Golf Tournament Scholarship-awarded to a Cape May County student with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Nicole Hurtado of Cape May Court House.

PR Council of Greater Atlantic City "Shore" Scholarship-awarded to a communication major who plans to transfer to a baccalaureate communication or public relations program. Must be a resident of Atlantic County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Presented to Anastasia Arakhlanova of Atlantic City.

Rachelle Stover Memorial Scholarship-awarded to an Atlantic County resident majoring in hospitality management with a GPA of 2.5 or higher transferring to a baccalaureate hospitality program. Presented to Terik Hampton of Atlantic City.

Ralph Russell Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a full time student majoring in math or science a resident of Cape May county with a 3.5 GPA. Presented to Megan Kelly of Cape May Court House.

Samuel A. Donio Memorial Scholarship-awarded to a second-year history or education major who has demonstrated service to community and school.  Must be a full-time student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Presented to sean Rush of Somers Point.

Sandy Steinberger Award-awarded to a returning student who demonstrates leadership ability. Presented to Ronnise White of Newtonville.

SouthShore Foundation Scholarship-awarded to allied health or nursing students who are enrolled in the clinical portion of the program with two faculty recommendations. The WIBCA/GEMS Memorial Scholarship Fund-awarded to a minority student to facilitate his/her retention in school. Presented to Celina Johnson of Cape May Court House.

Trump Entertainment Resorts Restaurant Gala Scholarship-awarded to a returning culinary arts major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must be recognized as outstanding in attendance and ethics and have two letters of recommendation from chef educators. Presented to Colleen Cox of Medford; Barry Mostyn of Cherry Hill; Sara Neimeister of Turnersville; and Stacey Snyder of Ocean City.

Vanessa Washington Scholarship-awarded to a health care, LPN or CNA major  an a resident of Atlantic or Cape May counties. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Presented to Marina Andriyakhova of Galloway.

Visiting Nurses Association Scholarship-awarded to a nursing student who has entered the clinical portion of the program in good academic standing. Presented to Erin Rivera of Williamstown.

Walter Russell Eshbach Scholarship-awarded to an Atlantic or Cape May County resident majoring in allied health. Presented to Sarah Henle of Cape May Court House and Ralfina Marinelli of Egg Harbor Township.
