Lisa Stein Wins Teaching Excellence Award

Lisa Stein of Linwood, assistant professor of early childhood education and development at Atlantic Cape Community College, received the Atlantic Cape Foundation Teaching Excellence Award at the college’s May 20 commencement.
Stein received a Bachelor of Science in elementary and special education from Bradley University and a Master of Science in early childhood special education and human development from George Washington University. Stein joined Atlantic Cape’s social science department in 2000.
The Atlantic Cape Foundation’s Teaching Excellence Award was created to honor one faculty member at commencement each spring for outstanding achievements and dedication to the profession.
Teaching Excellence is recognized as that which inspires a heightened understanding of the disciplines presented; an ability to approach academic content with active curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking; a disciplined and rigorous approach to learning; and a sustained level of interest in the affected discipline that would extend beyond the life of the course.
