Policy No. 201 - Student Affairs Counseling Program

Atlantic Cape accepts students under the open admissions policy. With this policy comes a diverse student population.

The College through the Center for Student Success, provides a comprehensive programs of student support services and student development activities.

Counseling will address career and life planning, academic advisement, baccalaureate transfer planning, student advocacy, financial literacy and self-esteem support. Counseling the academic and/or financially disadvantaged students will be served through the Educational Opportunity Fund and Student Support Services programs. Disability Support Services also provides counseling and accommodations for students with documented disabilities.

The Counseling Program addresses a variety of support services for students.  Support services includes: academic, career exploration, mental health and personal support are offered.  Eligible students can participate in the Educational Opportunity Fund Program and Student Support Services as well.  The Center for Accessibility also provides counseling and accommodations for students with documented disabilities.

In addition, cooperative education, job placement and special services, will be provided. These programs and services will articulate closely with other student development units and with the academic support areas of the College and with the faculty.
