Description: Student Governance

Student Government Association: Every Atlantic Cape student is a member of the Student Government Association (SGA).

The main policy-making body of the SGA is the Student Senate. The Student Senate is responsible for supervising the work of SGA committees, chartering student organizations, approving budgeting of all funds, determining student policy, and working with faculty and administration to improve the College.

Student organizations are open to all students regardless of race/color, national origin, religion/creed, disability, age, marital status, sex or sexual orientation.

The Board of Trustees of Atlantic Cape recognizes fraternities and sororities on campus pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Student Government Association.

Religious and political groups have the right to organize and be recognized by the Student Government Association. They will have the right to use the name of Atlantic Cape and its facilities but will not receive funds to run their clubs.

Use of the College's name in publicity for Student Government organizations or external advertising for Student Government events must receive prior approval from the Office of the Dean of Students in cooperation with the College Relations Office.
