Description: Community Use of College Facilities

The College will make arrangements whenever possible for groups within the community to use College facilities for educational or cultural events.

Upon receipt of a telephone or written request, which must be made at least four weeks in advance of the date of use, the Facilities Coordinator checks as to availability of space and, if all is clear, sends the standard form "Request for Use of Facilities" to the sponsoring group (available upon request from the Facilities Coordinator). Upon return of this form properly completed and signed, special needs are noted, and any estimates of extra costs are provided by the Facilities Management Department.

After completion and College approval of the request form, copies are sent to all College departments which are involved. An approved copy of the request form is sent to the sponsoring group. Billing is done by the Facilities Coordinator.

Close observance of "Special Conditions for the Use of College Facilities" as printed on the back of the request form is expected of all users. Perhaps the most important condition is the "hold harmless" clause that obligates users to assume legal responsibility for personal injury or property damage arising out of their use of College property.
