Testing & Inspection of Fire and Life Safety Detection and Suppression Systems

It is the policy of Atlantic Cape Community College to test all fire and life safety detection and suppression systems quarterly in accordance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code and the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Testing and Inspections shall be conducted by outside contractors certified by the NJ Division of Fire Safety/D.C.A. as contracted on behalf of the college.

The Security Department implements and manages contracts for testing and inspecting all fire and life safety detection systems and fire extinguishers. The Facilities Management department implements and manages contracts for testing and inspecting all fire suppression systems.

Security Officers shall escort and provide access to the testing contractor. All test results shall be reviewed, filed accordingly and deficiencies forwarded to the Facilities Department.
