President Mora presented at the Garden State Employment and Training Association as well as the NJ Association of Counties annual conferences recently.

Board Chairman Robert Boyer and Dr. Pete Mora presented Carole and Rachel Dieterly with special honors in recognition of their achievement as members of the All USA Academic Team. Ken and Diane Dieterly accompanied their daughters at the May Board meeting.

ACCC Trustee, Mr. David Evans, was recently recognized by the County of Atlantic at its Veterans Service Awards Ceremony.

Mr. David Evans, ACCC trustee, served in the US Navy from 1965-1969. He presently works as a teacher in the Galloway Twonship district and is an active member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of the American Legion in Galloway Township.

Student Group Shares Successes with Board

Male Retention program

Members of the Black and Latino Male Retention program, Howard Tibbs, Jamal Crouch, Todd Scott, Hakeem Torian and Michael Smith, who attended the March Board of Trustees meeting with Paula Davis, director of counseling and support services, told the board how the program had affected their lives. Board Honors State Senator Gormley

N.J. State Senator William Gormley, who retired in February 2007, was on hand at the March meeting of the ACCC Board of Trustees. Gormley was presented with a framed resolution honoring him for serving as a distinguished governmental leader for more than 32 years and thanking him for his “significant and longstanding commitment as an advocate for the mission of Atlantic Cape Community College.”

The SJAC presented ACCC's Cape May County Campus with the Good Neighbor Award for Lighting. CMCC's external light design successfully reduces light pollution and curbs ambient light.

Academy of Culinary Arts Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

The Marzipan-based centerpiece was created by ACA student Louis Savieri as part of his Centerpiece Artistry class taught by Chef Educator Ann Marie Chelius. ACCC Receives Equity Award

Atlantic Cape Community College received the Northeast Region Charles Kennedy Equity Award for actions it took to enhance and expand opportunities for minorities and women at the school. ACCC President Mora and trustee Brian Lefke accepted the award at the Association of Community College Trustees Annual Leadership Congress in Orlando.
