College Relations Office
College Relations is the department responsible for planning and executing the college’s public relations, marketing, advertising, graphic design and publications programs, including the college Web site.
College relations staff members regularly communicate with members of the news media, providing news and information about the college, its programs, plans and people. The executive director serves as college spokesperson and counselor to the president and top administrators on media relations and crisis communications.
To promote Atlantic Cape’s mission and image in the community, the CR office is responsible for assuring consistency of image and quality in all college communications. The CR office works for the entire college, functioning as an agency for other college customers. Our goal is to communicate your message to your intended audience in the most professional and cost-effective way, on time and within budget.
College Relations acts as the in-house public relations and advertising agency for Atlantic Cape, consulting with other departments on publicity, marketing, advertising, publications, graphic arts and Web projects. If CR cannot provide the needed service in-house due to staff, time or budget constraints, it will work to recommend an outside resource.
CR publishes these newsletters:
- The Communicator, an employee newsletter, which appears each payday, except June-August, when it is published once a month.
- Board Update, a summary of each Atlantic Cape Board of Trustees meeting.
- Atlantic Cape Alumni News, a quarterly piece that goes to all members of the Atlantic Cape Alumni Association.
A division of the Continuing Education and Resource Development area, CR actively supports the planning and execution of fundraising and other special events and develops marketing plans to meet the college’s enrollment goals.
The College Relations Web site was developed to give you a working knowledge of the publications and publicity process. We hope this will facilitate our joint effort to create quality publications and gain publicity to serve your department and the entire college.
