Ruth LatorreChef Educator Certified Working Pastry Chef Birthplace: Atlantic City, N.J. Education and training:Academy of Culinary Arts, 2002, Mays Landing, NJ Pennsylvania State University, 1981, State College, PA Career highlights:Chef Latorre began teaching at the Academy of Culinary Arts in 2011. She has worked at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and The Irish Pub and Inn in Atlantic City. Since 2004, Chef Latorre has pursued continuing education opportunities, including: Borgata Hotel's Leadership Program; Bo Friberg's Candies and Confections; Sugar and chocolate classes at the Ewald Notter School; and Andre Renard's Basic Chocolate. Honors and affiliations:Member, American Culinary Federation and Professional Chef's Association of South Jersey; Silver Medal winner, Atlantic Bakery Expo, 2004-2006; Gold Medal winner, Societe Culinaire Philanthropique, 2002.
