At one minute past midnight on the third Thursday of each November, more than one million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau, the newest wine from the Beaujolais region of France, begin a journey to all parts of the world.
Every year, wine enthusiasts gather at the Academy to celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau along with authentic French country food and dessert prepared and served by Academy students. This Nouveau event is believed to be the largest of its kind on the East Coast, celebrated the day after the legal release of the French wines.
The Nouveau Beaujolais event is held in conjunction with the Atlantic City chapter of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world's oldest, largest food and wine society. All proceeds support student scholarships through the Atlantic Cape Foundation.
