Alumna Katherine Morris Honored at Commencement
Atlantic Cape conferred the third President’s Distinguished Alumni Award to Katherine Morris ’90, a partner at Cooper Levenson Attorneys at Law, at the 45th annual commencement, May 17.
After graduating from Atlantic Cape, Morris attended The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden. She is admitted to the bar in New Jersey, the New Jersey Federal District Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.
Prior to attending law school, Morris was highly successful in the casino industry and served as a Casino Host/Credit Executive at the Sands Hotel and Casino and as an Executive Casino Host at the Claridge Hotel and Casino. She was part of the team that developed the first gaming rewards card in the Atlantic City industry. Morris is a member of the Vincent S. Haneman American Inn of Court, the Atlantic County Bar Association, the Cooper Levenson Scholarship Committee, a past solicitor of the Executive Board of the Atlantic County Mainland Chamber of Commerce, advisor for the Girl Scouts of the South Jersey Pines “Girls in Law” Program and has taught Business Law as an adjunct instructor at Atlantic Cape.
The award, initiated by Atlantic Cape’s Alumni Association Advisory Committee, recognizes an Atlantic Cape graduate who has displayed professional, personal, public or community-based accomplishments. The prestigious award demonstrates Atlantic Cape’s dedication to strengthening its alumni relations. Past recipients include Linwood attorney Michael R. Rann and Janice DeCicco Fipp, superintendent of Northfield Community Schools.
