Summer Youth College
Each year the committee spearheads a Summer Youth College for Atlantic and Cape May county students. The mission of the program is to create an interest in attending college. 80 public school students were invited to the 2011 Summer Youth program at Atlantic Cape’s Worthington Atlantic City Campus and the Cape May County Campus this year. Board of Trustees members Helen Walsh and Maria Torres co-chaired the subcommittee. The program was sponsored for the most part by the Borgata Heart and Soul Foundation, Cape Bank Charitable Foundation, and Guthrie Glass and Mirror Company. Letters were sent to school principals asking them to nominate a limited number of students who fit the selected criteria of need and scholastic citizenship.
