The Press of Atlantic City Restaurant Gala, the region’s premier black-tie fundraising event, celebrated its 25th anniversary with the theme "Reflections: The Gala Turns 25" on April 3. The Gala has raised nearly $2 million in its history for scholarships at the Academy of Culinary Arts.
The 2008 event celebrated food by featuring hors d’oeuvres prepared
by Academy students and showcasing the specialties of 40 of the area’s
best restaurants at a progressive dining experience. About 900 people attended the event, which also included
music, dancing and a “Dessert Extravaganza” under the
direction of Master Pastry Chef Eugen Ess of the Trump Taj Mahal.
