Program Overview - In 2004, the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) held two Summit on the Shore convocations. One outcome of the summit was a comprehensive survey on the state of the New Jersey Shore brand.
The survey brought forward interesting data and analysis. Among the many findings was an articulation of the expectations of the contemporary traveler. Today’s visitor expects the “extra” ordinary, including activities, destination authenticity and pampering service. The Summit marketing consultant stated that “Pampering is defined by luxury, service and a ‘fluffy towel’ factor.” The phrase “fluffy towel” was used as shorthand for an authentic service experience that meets a customer’s needs before he or she has a chance to articulate them. To meet that need the Institute for Service Excellence through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is offering:
