Electronic Equipment Technician (Slots/Vending/Arcade)

Prerequisite: Candidates must obtain a reading score of 8 and math score of 8 on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).

The Electronic Equipment Technician Program provides the skills and knowledge to become a Slot Technician, Arcade Technician or Vending Technician. As a trained technician, you will be prepared to install, repair, service or calibrate the various components of arcade games, slot machines or vending machines.

During this course you will learn the basics of equipment operation and the relationship to each industry, various coin- and bill-handling equipment, electrical applications, basic electronic component identification, identification and testing of resistors, capacitors, logic gates, transistor circuits, how the microprocessor operates and interacts with memory, troubleshooting techniques and procedures, and the basic elements of a data network.
This 375-hour program offers a 75-hour unpaid internship. A successfully completed internship is mandatory for receiving a certificate of completion.

You will be eligible to sit for the Gaming and Vending Technician Certification offered by Electronics Technicians Association International, Inc. (Exam cost included).

Suggestion: Networking Level 1 may be added as an additional option to enhance the skills acquired in this program.
