QuickBooks 2015

This QuickBooks overview covers accounting basics to advanced QuickBooks features. Students will learn the fundamentals of the accounting equation and gain an understanding of debits and credits in preparation for learning QuickBooks. QuickBooks 2015 tracks the financial activity of a small business. Topics include banking, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, inventory, billing and customer data management.

During the advanced features portion of the program, students will learn invoice design, debit memo and credit memo applications, setting up in-house payroll, analysis and various management reporting techniques. Students must bring a flash drive to save company data and files during class. There is no required book for this course.

Microsoft Office 2013 Series

Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Windows.

This comprehensive course is designed to introduce new users to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Learn the basic functions of these three software applications that can be applied to everyday personal and professional activities (see individual course listings below for descriptions). Students receive a 10% discount if students take the whole series.

Students must bring a flash drive to class to save files for future class and home use. Book is provided.

Microsoft Word 2013

Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Windows.

Students will explore the layout and functionality of MS Word 2013, learning Word basics, including: editing documents, moving and copying text, formatting characters and paragraphs, creating and managing tables, controlling page layout, using proofing tools and exploring web features. Students must bring a flash drive to class to save files for future class and home use. Book is provided.

Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Windows.

Learn the latest version of Excel, including the terminology and fundamental components, navigate worksheets and download templates. Students will also practice entering and editing text, values and formulas, and how to save workbooks in various formats. Instruction also includes working with ranges, rows, columns, simple functions, applying formatting techniques, creating and modifying charts and working with graphics. Students must bring a flash drive to class to save files for future class and home use. Book is provided.
