Building Analyst Certification

Atlantic Cape has partnered with Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) of Philadelphia to conduct onsite Building Analyst training. ECA is IREC- and BPI-approved. Recertification is required every 3 years. This course provides all the training necessary to take the BPI’s Building Analyst (BA) Professional written and field exams. The 27 hours of curriculum includes two days of class work and one day of field training. A two-hour review session will be scheduled on the fourth day followed by a two-hour written exam. A two-hour field test will be scheduled on a one-on-one basis with the instructor on the fourth and fifth days.

Topics include: BPI Building Evaluation Standards, heat loss and savings calculations, energy audit & diagnostic procedures, prioritizing a retrofit work scope, diagnostic process, why problems related to the building shell such as moisture, ice dams, mildew and drafts were a problem in the first place and how to mitigate them.

Upon completion, you will be prepared to take the BPI BA written exam and one-on-one field examinations. Student should be able to travel within Atlantic and Cape May counties for the field training part of the program. Cost includes exam.
