The Building Performance Institute’s Associates Certification empowers home inspectors and building professionals with the expertise to become BPI certified. The Building Analyst Certification program equips you with the knowledge and expertise to conduct energy audits and improve the quality of your inspection business. Break down the concept of “house as a system” in this class by exploring each component of construction and the implications that proper use of materials and techniques will have on improving performance. Using an actual case study, the course will explain the details of design and construction methods and materials. The systems include: foundation; framing; insulation; air sealing; roof design and detailing; windows and doors; heating and cooling systems; water heating; lights and appliances; and interior finishes. This course will provide you with information about why solar is a popular clean, renewable energy source locally and around the world.
