Solar Professional Certification

Prerequisites: Potential students should be comfortable working with heights, high voltage AC & DC currents, and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must obtain a language score of 8 and math score of 8 on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills required in the area of photovoltaic installation on residential and commercial buildings. This program prepares you to sit for the NABCEP entry-level exam. This course also qualifies for an Atlantic Cape Community College Certificate of Completion and 25.5 CEUs.

Instruction will include the following courses: Green Building Today, Intro to Windows XP, Internet, Word 10 and Excel 10, Professional Development, Basic Math for PV Installation and Design, Electricity Basics for Photovoltaic, OSHA Electrical Review, Introduction to National Electrical Code, Introduction to PV Design and Installation and Exam Prep and a hands-on solar installation simulation lab.
