Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)*

Health Care Career Training

Prerequisites: Candidates must obtain a reading score of 7 on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). A physical exam, results from a Basic 5 Panel urine drug screening and a PPD test must be completed within 3 months of the first day of class and this documentation must be provided at the time of registration. Documentation of immunizations and Hepatitis B series documentation must also be provided at the time of registration. Proof of adequate health insurance is required on the first day of class. Students failing to provide documentation will not be eligible for the clinical/internship portion of the program.

Becoming a Certified Nurse Aide is a great way to launch a career in the health care profession. This 90-hour program is approved by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. The curriculum includes 50 hours of classroom lecture with lab, 40 hours of clinical experience, and meets the curriculum requirements mandated by the NJDHSS. This program will prepare students to sit for the NJDHSS written examination and the required skills evaluation.

As a CNA, students will be eligible for employment in a long-term care facility, assisted living facility, adult medical day care or some hospitals.

    Clinical: Various long-term care facilities
    Beginning Jan. 19, 2018 (Ending Feb. 19, 2018)

NOTE: Fingerprinting and a criminal background check are also required, and paperwork will be done on the first day of class.
