NEW! Emergency Medical Responder

Health Care Career Training

The Health Professions Institute of Atlantic Cape Community College is proud to offer our new Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course. This program is designed for police, firefighters, school teachers or anyone with the potential to be the first at the scene of a medical emergency. EMRs have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS resources to arrive. EMRs also provide assistance to higher-level personnel at the scene of emergencies and during transport.

Students will participate in lectures, skills labs and online instruction on human body systems, patient assessment, airway, medical emergencies, trauma, behavioral emergencies, substance abuse and childbirth during the course.
