This workshop will provide instruction in drawing and painting media including pencil, ink, wash and acrylic studies to attain a better understanding of the concept and importance of value. In both drawing and painting, value trumps color, and understanding how to simplify the subject matter to black, white and a range of grays can set a pace for a greater understanding of composition, resolving drawing problems and ultimately creating stronger values. Subject matter will include working from photographs and working from observation. (Ages 18 and up.)
