Crowdfunding is a powerhouse, but what is it really and how does it work? Whether students are a startup, an existing business, a nonprofit, or an individual looking to create a movement, they’ll learn all about the new way to raise money for causes, campaigns, projects, or business. They will also learn all about the different platforms, what it takes to succeed and the pitfalls to avoid. NEW! Pitch Perfect: Three Secret Weapons for Successful Pitches, Presentations, and Communications

Successful presentations for pitching or persuasion contain several key secret weapons that make them stellar. When done correctly, these presentations can also be repurposed for additional exposure and brand development. For businesses, professionals, and startups pitching for support (monetarily or otherwise) or persuasion, there is often one key strategic component that is overlooked. It’s the one tool that will help students win more money, build a community of backers, believers, and evangelists, and demonstrate their commitment to the vision, as well as to their brand.

The goal of a startup pitch is to drive investment, establish a brand, or encourage partnering. And, importantly, bring a vision to life! A well-told story is one of the strongest, most effective ways to connect with an audience at an emotional level.

In this interactive workshop, students will learn:

  • What a story is and why it matters;
  • The seven key elements for creating a stellar story within a pitch or persuasive presentation;
  • Using stories to build their brand;
  • Additional elements to build a powerful pitch; • How to create several stories for an arsenal of call-to-action strategies that are appropriate for different occasions and audience (investors, vendors/supplies, bankers, potential clients, even employees).
