The Director of Facilities is responsible for repairs and maintenance at all three college campuses and is responsible for environmental (custodial) services at all three campus locations. This position will provide project management oversight and operations support in the areas of facilities management and construction.

Duties:
Directs Facilities Management operations of all three campuses
Directs Environmental Management operations of all three campuses
Directs the Plant Project Manager on construction contracts, contractor schedules and payments
Provides direction and oversight in the development of plans for physical plant maintenance
Manages and directs the work of the facilities and environmental (custodial) staff
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
With the Chief Business Officer, establishes, implements, and manages the Facilities and Environmental services operating budgets
Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws related to facilities and environmental
Develops positive working relationships with all college constituents
Must be available in emergency situations
Responsible for department payrolls
Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment
Oversees the maintenance of the inventory, storage, and distribution of Facilities equipment
Provides recommendations for the purchase of new equipment
Supports the Plant Project Manager in the planning and management of capital projects
Ensures the satisfactory operation, maintenance, and improvement of facilities as determined by the users of the facilities
Responsible for setting standards, developing and oversight of the implementation of a routine preventative maintenance schedule
Ensures compliance with standards set
Collaborates with Chief Business Officer and Plant Project Manager to identify renovation or maintenance needs
Prepares job estimates and reviews bids for projects to be completed by outside contractors
Inspects and approves work completed by outside contractors
Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance/building operations
A minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory experience
Experience supervising under a collective bargaining agreement preferred
Experience working on a college or university campus preferred
Knowledge of Green Environment standards helpful
Demonstrated experience in project management, time management, and organizational management with the ability to manage details of multiple and complex projects within firm schedules
Fiscal and budget management knowledge and experience
Knowledge of and experience with applicable laws, ordinances, and codes related to maintenance and environmental departments within a facility
