Job Opportunities at Atlantic Cape

The position is responsible for recruiting and coaching esports student-athletes. The coach will work significantly with the student-athletes and Athletic Director. Also works with other head coaches, academic affairs, admissions and financial aid staff and other campus employees.

Salary: $5,000 stipend for season

Reports to the Director, Athletics

Recruiting and retaining students for the esports program

Conducting coaching and instruction activities during training, practice and competition

Coordinating off-season, practice and competition schedules

Assisting with team travel when necessary

Running camps, clinics, and promotional events

Pursuing sponsorship opportunities within the esports business world

Ensuring team compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations

Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with the institution values and mission

Work closely with esports athletes to develop their gameplay, teamwork, and approach

Other duties as assigned by the athletic director

Minimum Requirements:


High school diploma

Associate's degree preferred 


Coaching or teaching experience, at least one year of competitive Esports

Experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and expert knowledge of various games

Competencies and Skills:

Working knowledge of Esports rules and regulations

Excellent Remote-based communication skills

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Excellent ability to communicate in written and oral form

Superb customer service skills

Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Knowledge of Ellucian’s Colleague management information system preferred

Terms of Employment:

This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.
